We purchased gift items from a leading showroom and made the payment using the credit card. They swiped my card twice for my payment. I brought it to the notice of my bankers and the showroom people. My bankers have clarified that the above mistake happened at the showroom’s end. The showroom people promised us that they would settle the complaint and our payment would be debited to our credit card account. But till date the issue has not been settled. I seek your advice on the best possible means to approach consumer forum.

You must have already checked the account statement for the right transaction. If it hasn’t been rectified till date, you can show the statement to the showroom people and take your cash. If they still do not agree, then serve them a legal notice. If they still do not respond, then you should file a police complaint for fraudulent dealings, cheating and criminal breach of trust. Then you are sure to recover your amount after that.
